UDC Inaugurates 8 Points of Use Facilities for The Pearl-Qatar

UDC invests 12 million riyals in unprecedented initiative to benefit its foreign workers and contractors

In an inauguration ceremony attended by H.E. the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Dr. Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, United Development Company (UDC) inaugurated eight ‘Points of Use’ facilities located throughout The Pearl-Qatar that have been constructed at UDC’s cost for the benefit of its foreign workers and contractors (the “Workers”).


The ceremony was also attended by H.E. Turki bin Mohammed Al Khater, UDC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim J. Al Othman, UDC President and CEO and other senior officers of the company, a leading Qatari Shareholding Company and the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar.



In line with the Qatari government efforts to ensure the well-being and comfort of Workers who are involved in developmental projects in the State of Qatar, UDC has invested QR 12 million in these facilities, inclusive of land and construction costs, to ensure that Workers are treated with civility and class.


 

An integral component of The Pearl-Qatar community, the Points of Use facilities have been designed and built to enhance the quality of life of workers. They offer unprecedented services and amenities for workers to rest, eat, wash and store their equipment free of charge, and have been constructed in accordance with the highest of international standards. Each of these facilities occupy a parcel area of 160 sqm, is air-conditioned and includes a kitchen, dining area, toilets, showers and lockers, as well as storage area for equipment and tools.
