United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari shareholding company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, recently organized its annual staff gathering event at Marsa Malaz Kempinski at The Pearl-Qatar, to recognize employees' hard work and dedication.
Sponsored by UDC Department of Human Capital, the gathering was attended by Mr. Ibrahim Al-Othman, UDC President & CEO, members of Executive Management and employees.
The event also honored staff members who completed ten years of continuous service at UDC.
As such, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Othman presented service awards to 12 long serving employees, thanking them for their continuous period of service at UDC.
Addressing employees at the function, Al-Othman highlighted the Company’s achievements and financial performance in 2016, while briefing employees on strategic plans and objectives set for 2017.
He praised employees for their contribution towards the growth and progress of the Company and used the platform to welcome new joiners reaffirming that UDC remains a prestigious workplace with a corporate culture that encourages diversity, knowledge transfer and best practice.
Al-Othman further stated: "Long service awards are just one of the many incentive policies we have adopted as part of our employee retention strategy. This ensures that the skills and technical knowledge acquired at UDC are nurtured and developed over time and are retained within the Company.”
The annual staff gathering aims to establish communication channels and instill a spirit of teamwork between top management and employees. This in turn mirrors UDC's belief in the significance of human capital towards achieving corporate mission and strategic objectives. In this sense, UDC accords high importance to all employees by creating a thriving work environment for them and by investing in relevant training to improve performance quality and stimulate career advancement.
UDC had recently disclosed its financial results for the year 2016 showing an increase in revenue by 66% compared to 2015 and a net profit of QR 681 million in addition to an increase in operating profit by 9% from 2015.
