Overview

United Development Company (UDC) is a leading Qatari public shareholding company with a mission to identify and invest in long-term projects contributing to Qatar’s growth and providing good shareholder value. Established in 1999, the Company was first listed on the Qatar Exchange in June of 2003. It has an authorized share capital of QR 3.5 billion and total assets of QR 18.3 billion at 31 March 2019.

UDC’s current portfolio includes: real estate development, property management, infrastructure and utilities, energy-intensive industries, hydrocarbon downstream manufacturing, maritime related businesses, and hospitality.

From day one, the company has played an active role in the development of Qatar, rapidly evolving into a leading Qatari Shareholding Company and has successfully established several new companies and investment vehicles.

Wholly-owned UDC companies include Hospitality Development Company, Ronautica Middle East and Madinainova amongst others.

One of UDC’s landmark projects is The Pearl-Qatar, an urban mixed-use, man-made island development.
Located some 350 meters offshore of Doha’s prestigious West Bay District, The Pearl-Qatar is one of the largest real estate developments in the Gulf.

    Board member, representing the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority - Civil Fund A Qatari national born in 1982, HE Mr. Mubarak holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Qatar University and a Master's degree from the British University of Plymouth. He currently serves as Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office. HE Mr. Mubarak has held several positions on the Qatar Olympic Committee and various posts in Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

HE Mr. Turki is currently serving as President of the General Retirement and Social Security Authority. He has held several key positions in Qatar, including General Manager of Hamad Medical Corporation and Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health. He is also presently on the board of Ooredoo and Masraf Al Rayan.

He is also Chairman of National International Holding Company, and a board member of Qatar National Import and Export Company. Sheikh Faisal is the current President of the Qatar Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Doha Petroleum Club. He is also the serving President of Faisal Bin Fahad Al Thani Charity. Sheikh Faisal has previously held a number of key positions, including Vice Chairman of Maersk Qatar and Board Member of Qatar Petrochemical Company.

He currently serves as Acting Head of the Finance Department at the Ministry of Defence. He previously assumed the post of Head of Finance at Marafeq Qatar, as well as Director of Business Development and Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, and Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the National Committee for Human Rights. Mr. Nasser has served as certified auditor at the State Audit Bureau and internal auditor at Qatar National Bank.

Al-Yafei has more than 20 years of rich experience in strategic planning, corporate performance, operations, maintenance, project management, enterprise risk management and business continuity management systems. Prior to joining UDC he held various management positions in Qatar Petroleum and other prestigious organizations and lead several national initiatives in the State of Qatar.

    Maher Naim joined UDC in 2005 and has since specialized in leading the company’s development as well as the management and control of all its financial activities. For more than a decade at UDC, his responsibilities have included preparing and monitoring the company's Budget, overseeing the management of Treasury and funding requirements along with issuing financial statements among others. In his current role he focuses on financial and business analysis, asset management and the company’s short and long term financial strategy. Prior to working with UDC, Naim held various senior managerial auditing positions at Arthur Andersen LLP, Ernst & Young and Deloitte. His past experience also includes Business Consulting Manager position at a local conglomerate in Qatar.

    Nouf Al-Sulaiti is UDC’s General Legal Counsel, the Head of the Legal Department and Secretary to UDC’s Board of Directors. She provides required legal guidance and advice to P&CEO and the management about activities and practices of the business. Before joining UDC, she was the legal lead and a member of the start-up team of Vodafone Qatar in 2009, taking part in the establishment of the company, issuance of the regulatory license and launch of the IPO. Nouf also served as Legal Counsel at Qatar Petroleum between 2005 and 2009.

    Talal Jondi is responsible for overseeing operations at UDC, including Engineering & Construction, HSSE, Procurement and Contracts Management. With his 29 years of international and GCC professional experience, Talal Jondi brings a wealth of knowledge in leadership and management of construction and real estate development to UDC.
